Neon Wants to Pay for Your Wedding with ‘Together’ Contest

Well, we all know that Dave Franco and Alison Brie are married IRL and now with their latest film, you can be too. Franco and Brie both star in and produce Neon feature “Together,” a body-horror take on codependent love. As part of the buzzy marketing campaign, the distributor is offering to pay for one lucky couple’s Las Vegas wedding. Hopefully their nuptials fare better than the one in “Together”…

The official synopsis for the film reads: “Years into their relationship, Tim and Millie (Franco and Brie) find themselves at a crossroads as they move to the country. Abandoning all that is familiar in their lives except each other. With tensions already flaring, a nightmarish encounter with a mysterious, unnatural force threatens to corrupt their lives, their love, and their flesh.”

The campaign for the film has blurred the lines between fact and fiction to capitalize on the lead stars’ real union: The latest trailer incorporated personal outtakes of Franco and Brie’s love story interspersed with creepy stills from the film. Franco previously directed wife Brie in the horror movie “The Rental” and the 2023 romance “Somebody I Used to Know.”

The contest for an all expense paid Las Vegas wedding opens on July 17 at 12:01am PT and closes August 3 at 11:59pm PT. To enter, each entrant must post a video on Instagram of themselves proposing to their significant other inside or outside of a movie theater and tag @Together.movie in the video post with the following caption and hashtag: TOGETHER FOREVER. #TogetherContest. Full contest details and official rules can be found on Neon’s website. This is one way to get people back to theaters….

“Together” premiered at Sundance, where it was acquired by Neon. IndieWire’s review by Kate Erbland called the film a “delightfully unhinged spin” on genre features. Neon will release “Together” in theaters on Friday, July 30.

Franco previously told IndieWire that “Together,” though, was an unprecedented experience. “This was like the most full-on thing we’ve ever done together,” Franco said. “We’re very picky about what we choose to do, especially when we’re onscreen together, just because we don’t want to burn people out on us.”
