For 35 years, The American Pavilion has given new generations of future film industry insiders — from Ryan Coogler to Jeff Nichols — their first taste of life in the biz with the legendary Cannes Student Programs. Recently, AmPav has done the same for the Venice Film Festival, with its Venice Intensive student program, running in 2025 from August 26 to September 3.
Now, it’s the final week to apply for the 2025 Venice Intensive program.
The Venice Film Festival is the oldest film festival in the world, and it’s become increasingly important in recent years as the unofficial kickoff to awards season. It’s where recent Best Picture winners “The Shape of Water” and “Nomadland” made their world premieres, where Emma Stone began her “Poor Things” journey to winning the Best Actress Oscar, and where just last year “The Brutalist” began its awards season run.
Students and recent alums who apply for AmPav’s Venice Intensive can be there on the first steps to the Oscars for the season’s biggest movies — all while enjoying one of the most beautiful cities in the world, and enjoying opportunities only available to those enrolled in the program. Last year, the Venice Intensive students attended an exclusive masterclass conversation between an IndieWire editor and acclaimed director Alex Ross Perry.
Here’s what awaits those who enroll:
–Festival accreditation and access to see the movies.
–Cultural experiences, including an outing to the islands of Murano and Burano
–Eight nights of shared accommodation in central Venice
–Daily breakfast
–Airport transfers and local transportation on the vaporetto (waterbus)
–Opportunities to interact with industry insiders and attend talks
–Automatic enrollment in AmPav Alumni, which includes lifetime membership for The American Pavilion at the Cannes Film Festival, alumni mixers in LA and NY, discounts on most AmPav programs, career development opportunities, and more.
This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to enjoy the films everyone will be talking about over the next year in a stunning city. And if you want to learn more, AmPav is hosting a Zoom Q&A about all that’s offered with the Venice Intensive this Thursday June 26 at 3:00pm ET/12:00pm PT. Sign up for that webinar here.
Buon Viaggio! And apply for the Venice Intensive here if you wish to enroll. See you on the Lido.
