It’s the dawn of a new era in “The Morning Show” Season 4. The network formerly known as UBA (and UBA+, for the real ones who remember) moves under new ownership, promising seismic change for Alex Levy (Jennifer Aniston), Bradley Jackson (Reese Witherspoon), and everyone around them — that is, if they survive the shift.
The Season 4 trailer shows UBA — now UBN after merging with NBN — promising the public a “different culture” and “feminist utopia,” with the cooperation and leadership of one Celine Dumont (Marion Cotillard). At the same time, Bradley grapples with the disgrace of her Season 3 actions (hiding her brother’s role in the January 6 insurrection) while investigating a chemical plant leak covered up by UBA, enlisting Chip (Mark Duplass) to help her. Tensions rise between Cory (Billy Crudup) and Stella (Greta Lee), Alex and Mia (Karen Pittman), and just about everyone else in the trailer for a star-studded season that includes Jon Hamm, Nestor Carbonell, Aaron Pierre, William Jackson Harper and Boyd Holbrook, and Jeremy Irons.
Charlotte Stoudt serves as showrunner and executive producer with Mimi Leder as executive producer and director. The series is produced by the studio Media Res, and executive produced by Michael Ellenberg and Lindsey Springer through Media Res, along with Stoudt and Leder. Witherspoon executive produces alongside Lauren Neustadter for Hello Sunshine, while Aniston and Kristin Hahn executive produce through Echo Films. Zander Lehmann and Micah Schraft also executive produce.
Season 4 picks up in the spring of 2024, almost two years after Season 3’s events. Season 3 picked up in the aftermath of the January 6, 2021 insurrection; Season 2 covered the months leading up to 2020’s COVID lockdowns, and the breakout first season introduced UBA’s key players while they faced allegations of sexual assault and misconduct from network darling Mitch Kessler (Steve Carell). The Apple series has been nominated for dozens of Primetime Emmy Awards including multiple wins for Crudup (including Critics Choice Awards) and a SAG Award for Aniston.
Season 4 of “The Morning Show” premieres September 17 on Apple TV+, with new episodes weekly on Wednesdays through November 19. Watch the full trailer below.
