The Academy Elects New Board of Governors for The Academy Foundation

Now that the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has determined its new Board of Governors, invited in hundreds of new members, and elected its new president, the organization has now announced the newly elected 2025-2026 Academy Foundation Board members and officers.

The Academy Foundation specifically oversees all educational, preservation, and cultural activities of the Academy, including the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, the Academy’s Margaret Herrick Library, the Academy Film Archive, the Academy Collection, and the Academy’s talent development programs.

The Academy Foundation Board comprises 12 trustees who also are members of the Academy Board of Governors.

Casting director Kim Taylor-Coleman was elected president of the Academy Foundation Board.

Also elected to board officer positions:

Brooke Breton (Visual Effects Branch), Vice President
    Simon Kilmurry (Documentary Branch), Treasurer
Isis Mussenden (Costume Designers Branch), Vice President

    Larry Karaszewski (Writers Branch)

Academy Foundation Board members and officers serve one-year terms. As representatives of the Foundation Board, new Academy president Howell Taylor, Kilmurry, and Taylor-Coleman will also serve on the Academy Museum Board of Trustees for one-year terms.

These appointments come after new Academy Museum trustees were added in June. The group includes both governors like Jason Reitman (Directors Branch), as well as executives from outside of the Academy Board of Governors like Toho Co. President and CEO Hiro Matsouka.

The latest Board of Governors news preceds some of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences biggest events of the year, including the Academy Museum Gala, the Governors Awards, and eventually the 98th Oscars in March 2026.
