The ‘House of David’ Creator and Prime Video Are Praying Fans Will Pay for Yet Another Streaming Subscription

Jon Erwin, the director of “I Can Only Imagine” and the creator of the hit Biblical series “House of David,” is launching a new subscription service that will be the exclusive home of Season 2 of “House of David.”

Erwin is launching the subscription streaming channel Wonder Project, which shares the name of his independent, faith-based studio, via Amazon Prime Video. At launch, the service will provide access to over 1,000 hours of curated movies and TV series that fit the brand of “courageous stories, inspiring hope and restoring faith in things worth believing in.” Erwin intends to release other originals through the service as well.

Erwin will also release “House of David” Season 2 exclusively through the subscription service, with it then launching on Prime Video in the U.S. and globally at a later date. The show, about the fight between David and Goliath, was one of the top new shows last year on Prime Video, reaching 40 million viewers worldwide and hitting #1 in the U.S. on the service. Giving early access to the show for subscribers is a compelling offer.

The subscription service launches in Fall 2025, and “House of David” Season 2 will be available at launch. The service will be available on top of a Prime membership for $8.99/month.

“At Wonder Project, we seek to entertain our growing audience with courageous stories that restore faith in things worth believing in. Great films and TV shows bring families, friends and communities together and drive meaningful connection in a world that is craving connection right now,” said Kelly Merryman Hoogstraten, Chief Executive Officer of Wonder Project. “As a mother, I can’t wait to have this shared viewing experience in my own home — through a brand we can truly call our own.”

“We are blown away by the success of ‘House of David’ and can’t wait for audiences to be swept away into the epic action and drama of Season 2,” added Erwin, Founder of Wonder Project. “Our audience is underserved and craves a destination they can trust with exceptional originals and curated movies and TV shows. With the new Wonder Project subscription on Prime Video, we will be delivering all of that and more.”

“We’re thrilled to announce the upcoming launch of the Wonder Project subscription on Prime Video. This exciting addition to our service reflects our commitment to providing diverse, meaningful content that resonates with our customers,” said Ryan Pirozzi, Head of Prime Video Marketplace. “This launch represents another step in our ongoing efforts to ensure Prime Video offers something for everyone, and we look forward to seeing how this new offering enriches the viewing experience for our customers.”

Prime Video already offers plenty of channels you can subscribe to for an added-on price, including other major streamers and niche services. But Amazon has ramped up its faith-based offerings in recent months, including also becoming the streaming home for Dallas Jenkins’ “The Chosen.”
