For cinephiles and film fans getting ready to head north for the 50th Toronto International Film Festival next month, consider today a particularly helpful one, as the full festival schedule has now arrived, along with the addition of six more feature films.
Those new additions, including the world premiere of Claire Denis’ “The Fence” and the North American premieres of Park Chan-wook’s “No Other Choice” and Olivier Assayas’ “The Wizard of the Kremlin,” bring the total count of TIFF films to 291 films (209 features, 6 Classics, 10 Primetime, and 66 shorts).
And those new additions also spell the end of TIFF announcements for this year, meaning it’s time to get cracking on making your schedule for what looks to be an extremely robust September festival.
Over the past few weeks, TIFF has announced its many selections, including Colin Hanks’ opening night documentary “John Candy: I Like Me,” plus new films from Steven Soderbergh, Nia DaCosta, Chandler Levack, Alejandro Amenábar, and Sung-hyun Byun, the addition of 11 starry titles in the Gala and Special Presentations program (plus that full lineup), the release of the Platform jury and lineup, the full Discovery slate, the always-wild Midnight Madness lineup, its robust documentary slate, the TV-centric Primetime lineup, the intriguing Wavelengths slate, plus the talents being celebrated at this year’s Tribute gala.
New Additions to the 2025 TIFF Lineup:
“& Sons” | Pablo Trapero | UK/Canada | World Premiere | Special Presentations
“Dog 51” | Cédric Jimenez | France | North American Premiere | Special Presentations
“No Other Choice” | Park Chan-wook | South Korea | North American Premiere | Gala
